When joint lubrication is no longer optimal

  • Support natural lubrication: Hyaluronic acid is the key component of synovial fluid — it contributes to its visco-elastic and lubricating properties. Regular oral supplementation helps support the quality and quantity of this fluid essential for proper joint function.

  • Act upstream of the vicious cycle: less friction = less inflammation = less degradation of synovial fluid. Acting on lubrication means acting on the entire chain.

  • Rare concentration on the market: 20,000 mg/kg formula — 300 mg of hyaluronic acid per 15g dose. A significant daily intake to support your horse's joint lubrication.

For which horses

  • Sport horses for supporting lubrication of joint surfaces, shock absorption
  • Seniors suffering from joint stiffness
  • Fragile horses monitored for joint disorders

What is hyaluronic acid and what is its role in horse joints?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a high molecular weight glycosaminoglycan (GAG) naturally present in synovial fluid and connective tissues. It is produced by the synovial membrane lining the joint and is the main agent responsible for the viscosity and lubricating properties of joint fluid.

Its unique structure gives it exceptional viscoelastic properties and the ability to retain water up to 1,000 times its own weight. It also plays a role in regulating cellular and tissue functions, with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and contributes to the structure of articular cartilage.

Why might horses lack hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced in horse joints, but certain situations can unbalance this system: intensive work, repeated impacts, aging, or joint problems. Over time, the quality of the synovial fluid can decrease, the joints lubricate less effectively, and friction increases, which promotes stiffness and discomfort. In these cases, comprehensive support (work management, veterinary follow-up, and, if necessary, targeted supplementation) helps care for your horse's joint comfort.
